How it works
How Our Personal Loan Request Service Works
Four steps take you from a short online form to funds from a lender. We handle the matching; the lender handles the decision, terms and money.

01
What are the four steps from request to funds?
You send one request, we pass it to lenders in our network, a lender may show you an offer, and if you accept, the lender sends the money. No step obliges you to continue.
- Submit the request form. Enter the amount you need, from $500 to $5,000, along with your contact details, income and checking account. The form takes about five minutes.
- Get matched. We pass the request to lenders and lending partners that may be able to help. Many requests get a response within minutes.
- Review an offer. A lender that can help shows its APR, fees, term and payment. Compare those figures with your budget and any other offer.
- Receive funds from the lender. If you accept and sign the lender's agreement, money often arrives as soon as the next business day, depending on the lender and your bank.
02
Which parts do we handle, and which does the lender handle?
We run the request form, protect the data you enter, and pass your request to lenders in the network. The lender checks your credit, decides, sets every term, sends the money and collects payments.
| Task | Our service | The lender |
|---|---|---|
| Collect your request | Yes | No |
| Check credit and verify income | No | Yes |
| Approve or decline | No | Yes |
| Set APR, fees and term | No | Yes |
| Send funds | No | Yes |
| Collect repayments and answer account questions | No | Yes |
Because the lender makes every decision, we cannot change an offer or reverse a decline. We can explain how the process works and how your information was shared.
03
What does it cost to use the service?
Using our service costs nothing. The only costs come from the lender you choose, such as interest and, with some lenders, an origination fee, and the lender shows them before you sign.

Across the network, APRs typically range from about 5.99% to 35.99% and terms from 3 to 36 months (estimates; each lender sets its own). As a representative example, $2,000 borrowed over 12 months at 24.99% APR is about $190.08 a month and $2,280.96 in total. Some lenders deduct an origination fee of 1% to 10% from the funds, so a 5% fee on $2,000 would leave about $1,900 in your account. Try your own figures in the personal loan calculator.
Lenders and partners may pay us for passing along requests. Details are in the advertiser disclosure.
04
When does a credit check happen?
Submitting the form does not by itself place a hard inquiry on your credit report. A lender may run a soft check to show an offer, and usually runs a hard check only if you choose to proceed.
A soft inquiry is visible only to you and does not change your score. A hard inquiry can lower a score by a few points for a while. The lender should tell you before it runs one, so you can decide whether to go ahead. More on what lenders look for is on the eligibility page.
05
What happens if no lender makes an offer?
No lender in the network could make an offer from the details you gave at that time. Nothing is owed, and you can try again later with a smaller amount or after improving the factors lenders weigh.
Common reasons include income that is too low for the requested payment, a high existing debt load, recent missed payments, or living in a state where few lenders in the network operate. Asking for $1,000 instead of $2,500, paying down card balances, or adding a longer income history can change the outcome.
People searching for painted horse loans near me sometimes hope a local office could help in person. The service is online only; a local credit union is a reasonable second option to compare.
